I really like your image of the moon and the last one that looks like a steamy wall or something of that nature. I think out of your gray images, the couch image is the least strong- maybe you could play with how the image is cropped to make it better. Or potentially add a vignette to the couch photo to make it more interesting. Overall, nice job and I look forward to seeing your final images!
Julia I really like your first image of the moon in a dark sky. It has an eerie feel to it and it is evident you utilized strong editing on it. I also like your image of the white windowsill with the branches in the background. This was a great use of an overexposure as the branches are very subtle and create a beautiful abstraction. Great work!
I like how distinct all of your photographs are, there is no mistaking what are supposed to be the white, black, and grey images. I believe your strongest images thus far are are your black underexposed images. These images two images have great lighting, and work very will as underexposed images.
I really like the clear cut differences inbetween the black, white and gray. You so clearly understood the assignment, and the photos as a series contrast beautifully. I believe your white and gray photos are your strongest in comparison to your black ones.
I already made some of these comments to you already in person, but I will log them on here nonetheless. I think you have a very solid set of starting images. Not only that, but I think that your images evidence your ability to find objects and settings that correspond to the three tones in the real world, rather than achieving your desired tonal range solely through Lightroom. I want your second image to have just a tad more highlights or whites to define. And I also think having a slightly visible human profile in the foggy mirror would make your final image really strong.
Your final image is perfect for the assignment! It looks hazy and foggy, and perfect for the grey image. I also love your third image. I like how even the tree outside the window is a soft light grey and blends beautifully with the white sky. It might be even stronger if you were to take the image from further away so that more of the window frame is showing, and make sure the lines are completely vertical. You have some awesome work so far!
